Shabby Chic Wedding Canvas

Today I am showing you a canvas I made for a wedding in our family, second cousin.  The family is getting older or is it that I am getting older because we are now seeing the second cousins getting married. lol  This young lady used to carry everyone's babies around at family events, one baby after another.  She was a welcomed baby holder for me.  I wanted to give her something special for her wedding.  The canvas if for one of their wedding photos.

I left a blank space for the photo and decorated it with old lace from a grandmother and some old jewelry as well as a ton for flowers from WOC.

I added Melissa Frances white key holes and a key with the old jewelry that I took apart.
A few Prima emblems and buttons mixed with the florals.

You can see the space for their photo on the right.
I modge podged lace and 2 sentiment areas on first.  Then I added the ribbon flowers on the bottom with glossy accents.  I mixed some distressed ink Tattered Rose with water and washed over the whole canvas. After it dried I glued everything else on with Glossy Accents and then washed it with white acrylic paint, let it dry.  One more coat of Tattered Rose with water, dry.  Then on the edges and sides I did a wash of water and Ice Spruce Distressed Ink.

The ribbon roses are pretty big as this is a 8x10 canvas

So Gorjuss

Good Morning my friends.  I hope you are having a very good day enjoying the snow, spring or crafting!  I finally colored up a Gorjuss image I have had for quite some time and here she is:

She is colored in Distressed Inks and then I used Crackle accents around her because I knew it would run the inks.  The edges are inked and distressed.  My paper is Engraver from Prima, I have so many plans for this paper!  I used Life Style Crafts Nesting frames for the shaped background. I have used a Marianne die for the Eifel tower on the right and Tim Holtz die for the butterflies on the left.

I put a piece of my MIL lace she gave me on after I knotted it and then attached Tim Holtz ideology rings and paper hearts to burlap that I borrowed off another older project.  At the bottom is a paper rose,  with a piece of lace under it. I adorned the card with a few pearls and crystal pieces.
She is a intriguing image

Mother's Canvas

This one is for my Mom and I gave it to her today.  It has the elements that she likes and even matched her new table cloth, I didn't even know she had a new one so a nice surprise.  She liked it.

It is hard to see the sparkles but the butterflies and the corners of the canvas are glittered.  This was painted with acrylics, Faber Castell Pitt Brush Pens, Pentel Oil Pastels.
I free handed the girl and no matter how I tried to change her face, it kept turning out the same way.  She is meant to look like this.

Alot of texture from the background papers I collaged together and the paints so it looks aged.

A Possum For Dinner?

Today while I was crafting I looked outside my window and this Possum was about 15' from me!  Our snow is so high and he was on the snow bank looking for food so peacefully.  The kids got our outside dog to chase him back home and these are the camera shots I got.

My camera is not a great one so he was quite close to the house. Brave Possum.

Here is our dog TAZ trying to "scare" the Possum!  He was barking and wagging his tail the whole time and trying to play with it.

TAZ was so ferocious that he took a break!  Eventually the Possum went back into the woods and TAZ decided to take a well deserved nap!

Another shot at the event.

It was funny to watch our dog as he had no intentions of running off the Possum, he wanted to play.  Our dog then got tired of it, some watch dog!!

Hope you enjoyed the photos

Tilda With Mr. Rooster

I am in the Maggie mood today!  Another card for a birthday.

Tilda is colored in distressed Inks. I used Teresa Collins papers and sanded the tan Coordinations paper after I cut it with a Joy die.  I had fun with the liquid pearls on this one.

Here are some dies that I used and embellished with pearls, Memory Box Corner bow and Precious Hearts.  Then I embellished the bottom with florals and a feather from our chickens.  The pick in the florals is from Tim Holtz and I slid a birthday sentiement in it.

The inside is a craft bag with 2 Magnolia doohickey heart dies for wishes, another Memory Box corner bow die, Magnolia doohickey fence die and spellbinders for the sentiment area.

Exclusive Easter Egg

I had some time for just coloring and today I put together some cards, I want to share this one with you.
I used Exclusive Easter Egg

I colored the egg in distressed inks.  My papers are from Echo Park and MME.
I used different florals and wound them together with feathers from our chicken. The crystal at the bottom is egg shaped and I thought it finished it nicely.

I used 2 different spellbinders dies to display the egg on.  Then I put crystals around the egg and edge.
My colors are a bit off but they are all shades of pinks and I think the card looks better in person.

Here is the inside of the card where I have the mini eggs and a sentiment from Magnolia.  My new Memory box ribbon die, just had to have!

She Art 3

I took a She Art 3 online course with Christy Tomlinson and it is fabulous, she really explains things well.  I never finished the course, which I intend to, and I made my first girl.  I am pretty rigid with how I paint so everything has to be perfect.  I tried to make her warm and comfortable to look at but she is still a bit stiff.  Practice and finishing the course will help

I cannot draw or sketch eyes or lips at all so this was a huge challenge for me.  My cheeks got a bit too bright and my nose bothers me.   I need to improve but first time out not as bad as I thought it would look.

My background papers are from Authentique.  I used Faber Castell large Pitt pens, Pental oil pastels and Faber Castell Gelatos.  My acrylic paint is Golden.

Her rose collar is acrylic paint mixed with moulding paste to give it dimension.  I painted on highlights so they appear real.  I used a piece of lace for her choker.

I accept critiquing as it helps me improve so go for it Sandy!
Really I can handle it.
Have a lovely day.

Sweet Baby Boy

Just a simple baby boy card to add to a Auction basket that I am doing for the end of April.
I used a image from Lili of the Valley

The felt leaves are ancient, I have had them for a long time.  The rolled roses are from Live and Love Crafts.  I used a newer Spellbinders die for my image. You can see the liquid pearls here, it is rare that my camera will do closeups, everything has to be just so and I have no idea when it is. I am a point a shoot girl.

He is colored in Copics

My felt clouds I made from a die and felt from Papertrey Ink. Sewed it together and added button stars

Now I actually love the inside most, the mini Magnolia tags and horse are just so cute and fun to use on the card.

See how fun those mini's are!!

It's My Time Canvas

This canvas is a bit darker and more blended but she sure looks great on tan or green walls.  She matches alot of my home but I am going to sell her as with the others I am making.

My paper is from 7 Dots and Prima Sunset. I used acrylic paint, TH distressed inks, texture and Fabercastell brush pens.  The words are from another 7 Dots line.  I also have a few stamps on it.

I did alot of shading so some of the areas of paper barely show.  I wanted raised things and some texture which I mixed with my acrylic paint and used as mask to dot it on.
Below is a bird from a fiber ribbon and I dabbed on paint with texture mixed in and then adhered the metal bird with glossy accents.

Here is a close up of the flower stamp and a gem, the bottom shows my texture using a mask.  Also you can see the words and how I blended them into the papers.

At the bottom I made grass and lightly drew in flowers.  Her dress is outlined in glittered and her flower is a metal one from Prima Vintage Trinkets.

I used texture and acrylic paint in her hair and highlighted it with another color.  A metal charm and some gems are in it. Above her is a heart from the same fiber ribbon and texture, I inked a wooden heart and put it on top and then blended it into the papers.  The left is the bird cage that I Frantaged and then inked a wooden bird and glued on.  More words.

I had to do alot of shading to blend everything in.

A close up of the wooden bird cage and bird

Closeup of her textured hair and the metal flower

I love creating the girls and making them up as I go.  This one is so different from the rest.

Tilda With Big Tulips

Today I was able to get some book work done and have the afternoon free to listen to my She Art 3 Class by Christy Tomlinson.  My heart is still for my Magnolia stamps but my heart is heavily yearning to create more canvases.  All the while I am listening to this class I am trying to color and create this tag and then I find myself wanting to color like you would on a canvas, I threw away a few images.
Well I did complete my tag

It is sunny here after our 7" snowstorm Tuesday so I felt like using bright spring colors.  My papers are from Graphic 45 Secret Garden.
I have these cute hangers from Melissa Frances so I am hanging my cards on them, this tag looks great with this hanger.  My walls are getting full of wholes.

I colored Tilda With Big Tulips in Copics and Used a Spellbinder die to cut her out.  Instead of glittering her up, I decided to leave her more clean, fresh.

Here is my card using our sponsors image from Bugaboo Stamps

Ahh isn't he cute!!  I colored my little bunny in Copics on Cryogen paper.  My DP is from Graphic 45 the new Secret Garden.   Along the left side I used a Spellbinders border die and then a Cheery Lynn die for the flowers.  My eggs on the bottom left is a Magnolia mini stamp.  It fit perfectly on the card as a embellishment. I adorned the scallop chipboard with diamond jewels and added stickles to the bunny and Magnolia eggs.
