Patina Paint Brush Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog today!

My friends and I tried Finnabair ARt Extravagant Patina Effect Paste on a paint brush.

So here are the step by step that we did using Finnabairs You Tube video for a guide

So here is what we did
We glued on the objects with Glossy Accents to a paint brush and after it dried then brushed the entire brush and objects with Finnabairs Clear Gesso. Let is completely dry or things will be moving while you are trying to paint. lol

The next step is color them with the Brass Paint, then apply the green and blue, I did blue first and realized that we are supposed to blend both green and blue together but not completely.  Also note that I have a heavy hand, there is a lot of the paint on mine verses Dawns, she is a lighter painter and did not apply that much paint to the brush.

So here they are completely painted with the 2 colors green and blue, the paint is more like a paste and is gritty. After it is dry I rubbed my fingers lightly over it to get rid of the loose grit.

The you want to DRY BRUSH more copper paint to just highlight the areas.  Very lightly and you may need to go over it a few times.  last I applied Turquoise Satin and a bit of Old Silver Waxes over the copper to highlight it more. You just lightly rub it in and done!

Here are Dawns Brushes finished.

I hope you liked them, very easy to do and Finnabair is a great teacher!
All this is available at my store

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College fund Challenge

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!
Some of you may not know that I have purchased the online store 7 Kids College Fund from Tabitha just a few months ago.  I have learned so much and feel so great about making this investment for our future. Keeping the store going and being able to see my self grow brings me happiness.  It has been hard, frustrating and rewarding for me, even the customers are so patient with some mistakes that get made. My goal is to bring the best customer service because I appreciate it as a customer and also some great products that you will love.
One of the best parts now is opening up our Challenge Blog for everyone to participate in. The blog and our talented design team are being managed by my partner and friend, Karen Gauthier.

Now I have limited time so I was up late the night before making my card, sound familiar?  lol  This one is a simple Halloween card using Wizard, Witch and the Cauldron Chicks from Stamping Bella.  They are colored in Copics on X-Press It paper then put onto Authentique Mysterious Designer paper pad.  This is all available in the store.

The cobweb doilies are from last year, they are for cupcakes and I did not see them in the store this year.  Aren't the chicks just stinkers! lol  My son loves all the pictures of the Stamping Bella line, he finds them amusing.

We will have a $20.00 gift voucher to our store for the winner.  I would love to have you enter the challenge for a chance to win the $$$$
Here is the link to 7 Kids Challenge Blog, please look at our design teams creations.  We have some sweet and talented ladies to represent us.  I am so lucky!
Have a great day,
Kelly

Wycinanka & Maja

What goes perfectly together on a card, box, gift, scrapbook page, oh if only I had more time to craft!  I made 2 cards using Wycinanka chipboard and the new Summertime Maja papers.  I need to write to some people and I had no cards so this is what I made

I used a border and a set of keys on the right of the card and the heart is the centerpiece.

This card is using the heart in the middle with a resin bird.  The top is a border that I put liquid pearls on. The borders are so delicate and I really had to be careful not to break it.

I need to make more while I am able to enjoy a break in life.
Have a great day!

It is a GIRL!

My son and his wife are having their first child at Christmas time, I can hardly wait!  Too many boys in this family and this one is a girl.  I just had to make this darling card for the occasion.  My card has a gorgeous piece of Wycinanka Chipboard on it and Maja Summertime papers.  I used several Magnolia Doohickey die cuts and flowers from every where.

Here is the chipboard up close, I love the castle, she will be our Princess!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, Our lives are so full but it is nice to hear from you!
Hugs and blessings,
Kelly

CAS at Magnolia-licious

Clean and Simple is the hardest thing for me to do, I always think I leave the card undone.  I love how beautiful everyone elses cards are, you should go over to our new challenge and look at the DT ladies, wow!  Our new challenge at Magnolia-licious Blog is
CLEAN AND SIMPLE

For me this is a challenge so I had this one piece of designer paper and cut out a box.  I colored and cut my Tilda with Dot Bow out and put it together.

here is the front side and the flap opens so I can put a little something in there.
The backside was easy I just used the other images on the paper and stamped the sentiment.  To me this is clean and simple. lol

I hope you join us this month to win the prize!
Have a great day, Kelly

Celebration with Midweek Magnolias

Celebrations are so fun especially summer ones, so many occasions and gorgeous summer weather!  This weeks Challenge at Midweek Magnolias Challenge is
CELEBRATIONS

There are so many things to celebrate this year so I made this one blank so I can write in what I want to for the occasion.  I like blank cards to personalize when the time comes.

I love this Tilda from the new Spring collection, she goes with everything as she is gazes thoughtfully, hmm wonder what she is thinking?

I wanted to show you the new Magnolia Doohickey die Volume 9 I used on this card.  The envelope, swirly mat and castle towers are so cute.

I hope you come join us at Midweek Magnolias Challenge Celebrations.  You will have a chance to win a great prize, see you there!
Hugs Kelly
