Wedding Tilda

Hi Everyone
Did you like my strawberries and pie recipe from my previous blog post here?

I was asked to make a few wedding cards and I wanted to show you the first 2 of many that I will make.  I am still trying to get my crafty groove back but it is still in Florida, I forgot to bring it home! lol

Wedding Tilda colored in Copics and sprinkled with Frantage

Pion papers and Marianne die cut make up this simple design.  I could not cover the papers as they are so beautiful.  I also added a layer of Ecru lace before putting the die and Tilda onto it. There is pleated tulle on the bottom left of Tilda, kind of looks like the rest of her dress trailing.

For the heart I used a Pion heart and embossed white doilies onto it.  I made a honeycomb heart and fanned it out and then added a pearl to the bottom of it.

I had a package of banners and stamped Wedding Wishes onto it.

The inside using Pion papers and a LOTV sentiment. Very simple card as the papers are the design.

A different angle to see dimension.

My Second Card
Wedding Tilda is colored in Copics and I took part of a lace to attach to the bottom of her. Behind her is a layer of tulle and then the script paper edged with a SU punch.

The tag is a Magnolia doohickey, the heart and Cloudy Tag mini.  I added a key charm and pearls. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

The bottom of the card with florals from LLC and the lace piece

Inside the card is the Cloud Tag in the bigger version with a sentiment from SU

Close up of the tag

A side view for dimension

The pearls were gifts from blogger friends and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Here is the bride

I would like to enter the following challenges

A Lot Of Yummy For Your Tummy

I am full of strawberries!!  My husbands garden decided to start produce while we were gone and we were cleaning 4 big tubs of strawberries last night.  That was only the first picking!  I think this year with all the rain and while we were gone it finally warmed up and popped those luscious berries!

I froze 10 quarts and made 4 pies with them.  I am going to show you the pie tutorial so that you can enjoy your fruit too.  You can use any berry or flavored cream cheese with this receipe.

Here is a tag I made to include on one of the pies for a small token.  I made a tag with watercolor paper after wetting it I dropped distressed inks on it to make the background.  The top is a plastic mask that a friend of mine made me so I stamped black onto it and got that pattern.
A couple of doilys that I made from papers, attached Magnolia's Strawberry Tilda, sentiment and done.

Recipe is for 2 pies

First I buy deep dish pie crusts, I cannot make a pie crust, just doesn't go well with me! I poke them with holes and bake them at 400 degrees until golden brown.  COOL them on the counter.

Your ingredients

Do not look close into the oven, crafters do not clean their ovens, no time! hehe

While the shells are baking I mix 2 containers of flavored cream cheese with 1C of powdered sugar in a bowl with a mixer until creamy. After the shells are cooled you spread the cream cheese and powdered sugar along the sides and bottom of each pie crust shell.

Here is the cream cheese spread into the baked pie shells

On the stove I put water and 1 Pkg of Danish Dessert in a pan, follow the directions on the box for pie glaze.  I cooked it until it boiled, constantly stirring, then when it started to boil I let it boil for 1 minute and then removed it from the burner to cool.

Then I sliced about 4 C of strawberries and mixed them with 1/2 to 1C sugar depending on how tart the berries are.  After they are mixed they need to be drained, no juice in the pie or it will be runny.

I added the sugar

Stirring to create juices from the strawberries

Here is the juice after I strained it, do not use it for the pie, tastes great with ice cream!

After draining I mixed the berries into the cooled pie glaze and then pour the strawberry glaze into the shell that already has the cream cheese in it.  After that you spread cool whip over the berries and cool in your refrigerator.

Putting the cool whip on top, you can see each layer

The finished pie, you can spruce it up if you like, my kids eat it so fast that it isn't worth it!

I hope you enjoyed my pie tutorial and if you have any questions just ask.  Thank you for stopping by today and while I was gone.  I love reading your comments.
Thank you!

Florida 2013

Hi I have returned to Minnesota mosquitos!  We had a great time moving my son and his girlfriend to Florida on the Gulf side.  I have a ton of photos to share with you as I have been so busy that I have no time to create anything yet. My creative brain is dying to color!!

First before we left MN, my little one turned 5 and my daughter and I took him to his favorite Mexican restaurant for his birthday.

He spent his birthday money on the road to FL at a Cracker Barrel restaurant, he is all about tractors

We arrived in FL after a 30 hour drive, (2 days) unloaded all the boxes and furniture, put it all away and then checked into our condo later that day.  Elijah loved all the hotels we stayed in along the way.
A storm coming across the ocean, we had a covered balcony so we could stay on it and watch everything.

So some of this is out of order and taken with my phone so the some photos are not the best.
The last Supper
Ben and Kaitlyn chose this locally owned restaurant and the food was fabulous!  We had a party of 9.

My son Scott and hubby are not enjoying the photo taking.  Scott came from NC to visit us as his drive was only 11 hours.  He is a US Marine and will be getting out in December.

Here are my 16 year old Ike and 13 year old Noah

The first weekend there, we saw 3 weddings on the beach in front of our condo.

The sunset

Naughty brothers set up their older brother for a humorous photo shoot.  He was sleeping on the couch and they took full advantage of him, boy was he embarrassed but laughed at his photos, they all have a great sense of humor.  Their faces are priceless!

Ben and Kaitlyn walk the beach all the time, even after we left.

They brought us up a tiny sea crab

Kaitlyn and my son Elijah

Kaitlyn and Ben my son, new FL residents.  He already got a job and she is signed up for school.

Another sunset

My son Noah held out bread on the balcony and the sea birds swoop in for it,  they take it right from your hand. They leave your fingers wet.

The birds were not shy, we all fed them.

Here is one in the sunset

My hubby and I cannot seem to get any good photos of us

A sunny gorgeous day on the beach

People set up tents, toys boats, and enjoyed it at all hours.  In the middle of the night when I was awaken, I was on the balcony and people were still out in the sand goofing off.  I just love the peacefullness of the ocean and the beach

So we had to go home and Noah is like "no" "get my little brother away from me"  Tight fitting in the back of our truck.

here is a fresh fruit and vegi stand in Alabama.  They live down the road and have a peach orchard too.
The day after getting home I had to can the peaches before they rotted, 10 quarts. Worn out from unpacking, laundry, canning, and then hubby decides to butcher chickens as they are big and ready, what a reality check after a week of relaxing!

So on our way home in IL my hubby decides we deserve a treat to a nice restaurant, just look at the menu, mmmmmm, the food was fabulous!!   Angus beef from local cattle ranches and homemade sauces.   I loved it!!!

Then in WI we managed to be slightly ahead of the worse storms that went through and a photo of the storm from our left and raining over us and then straight ahead was a opening of sunshine.  Very interesting weather we had throughout the last day of travel.

I tried to capture the rainbow on the left and then it turned into a double rainbow.

So 4 days home and I am finally caught up but sick with a sore throat so bad I cannot speak, the virus started with my hubby before we left and went down the line to each kid and finally me! yeah.
Missing my son, he is quite happy in FL and my other son may go there for schooling after the Marine Corp so then I will have to learn to like flying, I will need alot of medication for that!!

I hope you enjoyed the photos, not alot of interesting ones since we just stayed near the beach and got beautiful tans.  But we had a great time.
Hugs, Kelly
