Sunshine and Smiles To You

Just Waiting to go to the airport!! I can hardly wait to see my relatives from Vegas.

I colored Tilda with the blanket with copic markers and distressed ink the edges with Vintage Photo. I chose a scrap piece of paper and it was just enough to make the card, tag and postcard.

Thank you for stopping by today, have a sunshiny day!

Birthday Balloon and Butterflies

Sooo my husband came home and said someone is coming over to pick out a Birthday card and I figured you had plenty.  Well, not really as I haven't made much since the charity baskets and then a specific birthday card. Hmmmm, 1 hour later this is what I came up with.

Th DP is Echo Park 'Hello Spring Butterfly'. Thankfully I already had this Maggie already colored in Distressed Inks.  I always have a stash of the colored images,  but this one was my last.  I love to color as it is so relaxing.

I used my Whimsy die and stamp for the sentiment and edged it in blue. The button and floral embelly was fun to put together, I wrapped the spool with yellow twine and dangled the sewing machine.
Tilda is enhanced with Memory box dies swirled around her and a tiny bit of liquid pearl.

The inside sentiment is from various Papertrey Ink stamps, I edged the writing area and attached the ribbon with scor-pal tape.

I was lucky enough to be able to snap these pictures before she came.  She loved it and it sold for $5.00.  It is hard for me to charge a lot of $$ for my cards, they bring me a lot of enjoyment to make and then I try to buy things as cheaply as possible so I felt I didn't need more than that.

Thanks for stopping by and having a peak. I really appreciate everyone's time in leaving me comments.  Your thoughts are precious.

Criss Cross Card {Love}

Hello Everyone,
I am in the creating mood and thought I would try one of those gorgeous criss cross cards everyone is making.  I think they are pretty easy and so fun to decorate.

My DP is MME Love Me Collection.  The florals are from IAMROSES and Prima. I added Melissa Frances crochet button, Webster's Pages pin, Hand Dyed Ribbons, a bead from a old earring and ran gray pearls down the side of the cross part.  Tilda is colored with Copics.  I used Distress Stickles around the oval.  My ovals are cut from a Spellbinders die.

I made a felt die cut flower and put a Prima button star on it. You can see my musical edging, it is a fabric ribbon from Webster's Pages Botanical Xmas.  The pearls are from our local craft store.

The inside of the Criss Cross is MME DP and a Journaling card from Prima's Almanac.
I made a banner and used a Spellbinders die to make the accent from the backside of the DP.  I used twine to make the double bow.  I really love this set of journaling cards.

Thank you stopping by, have a very happy crafting week.

Baby Door Tag

This door knob tag is for a baby boy's door to his room.  I have always used one for when my baby was napping to let the rest of the family know that it is time to be quiet.  I still use one for the grandchildren.

The DP paper is from MME Stella Rose and Fancy Pants. I made to clouds with Papertrey Ink die and felt and then sewed them together.  I used a Spellbinders Octogon shape for the baby and two sentiment areas above him. The overall shape of the card is a larger Spellbinder die set.  The bottom and right side I used Whimsy die's bib and rattle. In the corners are Melissa Frances crepe paper fringe that I made into a circle.

I have a dwindling stack of pre-colored Magnolia images and I do not know which Copics I used. I am glad that I have the stack for when I need a quick card made, like for a challenge.

At our local craft store I found a bag of pacifiers in different colors.  They are adorable and will be used with this image a lot.  Here it is hanging off the ribbon that goes onto the knob.

A little edge shading and marker stitches with stickler in yellow help jazz it up a bit.

I love the bib die, they are so cute.

This baby project is for the Challenge

Thank you for you sweet comments.

Challenge Card

I snuck in a card today and it is for my grandmother, she will be here for her Birthday in May and at the young age of "93"!  I am excited to give her this.

My grandma loves bright colors with a lot of design going on, especially on her hand sewn dresses.  She is still the same short, jolly, lady since I was a kid.  She would make me homemade bread in the morning and then in the afternoon it would be Banana cream pie.  She always said to me " I shouldn't be eating this, and giggles, but I can't let you eat alone!"

A little tag pulls out and says Celebrate You with her age. The twine she will like because she loves to sew. I do not sew well so I decided not to embarrass myself on her card. LOL

I would like to enter this card in the following Challenges, I hope my grandmother lends me some luck!

Thank you for stopping by today!

When life is full of lemons and lime

Been so busy that it took 2 weeks to complete the cards.  How they turned out is completely different than  I intended.  They were done so I could release stress, my mom has Alzheimers, Seizures and TIA.  We finally have all the medications and diagnosis done but now we are trying to handle the changes to all of our lives.
To bring some joy into it, my mom's mother, (my grandmother) is coming with my Aunt and Uncle from NV.  My grandmother will be 93 years old while she is here!  My Aunt loves to craft and my Uncle loves 'honey do' lists, they are staying at my place, yeah!  My grandmother will be staying with my mom to help her out and keep her company.  We are truly blessed with a great family.

Thanks for letting me vent a bit, here are the cards I made recently.

I am having camera issues so the coloring is off as you can see.  I made a choice this month to purchase more Copic markers with my money,  eventually I will have to purchase a new camera, but crafting is first, LOL.

I made the tags first just playing around with my scraps and many butterflies, then I saw a Maggie opportunity for a card and put her above the tags.

Above is a closer look at the tag portion of the card. Below is another version of the card.  I focused on green and yellow spring colors, after all March was definitely spring here in MN.

This tag and card is my favorite out of the 2, I used Melissa Frances crepe paper fringe on the top and covered Tilda's legs.  The stamp and sentiment is from Stampinup. The other tags and butterflies are all from Papertrey Ink.  My flowers are mixed up and I do not know which vendor they are from, sorry.
The papers are from my scraps of Pink Paislie and Prima.

My intention is to bring fun and joy to people who look at my cards and hopefully humor but sometimes life isn't that way and for some reason it feels good for me to share what affects my daily living.  Please know that I do not seek attention but sharing can be a healthy thing for me as someone may have a better way of working with difficult situations.  We all learn from each other, by art or heart.
Wishing you all joy and peace this week.
