Vintage Canvas

So glad you stopped by my blog, I hope I leave you with some positive inspiration!
My friend gave me a small burlap canvas and after coveting it for a while I finally figured out what I wanted to use it for.  Something vintage and meaningful for me. Love.

This was a very easy to make canvas, I had saved the chalkboard label of some flower packaging and used it for the background. Then I distressed the image and added my grandmother-in-laws old lace to it. Some metal flowers and a smudging of white paint and done!

I also want to bring your attention to a wooden key, it is chunky and a small part of the most amazing chipboard I have been working with this month.  There will be more chipboard coming soon to show you as I am part of Southern Ridge Trading Company design team.  They just put together a blog here to start our showing you all the things you can do with Karen's chipboard that she creates herself.  The fun part is we can ask her or give her ideas of what we want and she makes it!  So stay tuned for next week as the blog begins!

I wanted to show you this gorgeous lace that is 100 years old. It has been salvaged by my mother in law and so I use it sparingly on items to keep.

Look Familiar! Wow what a winter we are having in MN, it is one for the record books.

High winds to blow the snow and shut off our driveway and road.

It is very beautiful but crispy cold in the negatives way too much!!
Where is spring!!!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a very nice weekend coming up!!

Fairy Sweet by Mo Manning

Welcome everyone!!
We have a new challenge today at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog  ANYTHING GOES!!
I made a card using a Fairy from the acrylic stamp set Fairy Sweet by Mo Manning.

My card base is a Go-Kreate die and the Anja's Card Base to hold it up.  My image is colored in Copics and I distressed around all the edges with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.

Here are the Marianne Creatable flowers and leaf set and then I added a rose to the top of it.  For the sentiment I used Little Darlings Use Your Words fonts on a Magnolia doohickey die.

Here is the inside of my card and the Anja Card Base. My papers are Prima's Princess 6x6 pad.

Gypsy Soul by Charmaine Flannery

Yeah it is Saturday!  Welcome to my blog today.
I made a card for 7 Kids College Fund by one of my favorite artists Charmaine Flannery.  She is located under Sweet Pea Stamps at the 7 Kids College Fund Store.  There are a few days left in our challenge too, hope to see you over there!

Here is my card using Gypsy Soul by Charmaine Flannery
She was a bit hard for me to design a card with her.  I love Gypsy and their look but I didn't get the creative flow for it and so for 3 weeks I just added and subtracted items from this card until I was happy with it.  Silly but I did not want to give up because I love the image.

I had Prima Junkyard metal and chipboard, to create my embellishments. Of course I had to use Frantage somewhere so I chose the bird cage from Prima. I painted the little Chipboard owl to lay on the top of the cage.

The black ribbon is so gypsy and I loved the effect it gave the card.  I will use it next time I make something with this image! lol

Sometimes I feel restless and want to be like a Gypsy just take off and explore. A bit of this in all of us perhaps? lol

Please stop by 7 Kids Challenge blog and enter to win the gift certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund Store so you can shop til you drop!  That is always fun!!
Enjoy your weekend!

Ribbon Dance Tilda From Magnolia

Hello Everyone.  Our weather forecasters told us we would not get the snow that is in MN. Well their tracking system must be broke as we are getting a ton of it AGAIN!  They are big beautiful flakes, the ones that make everything glow!  Lucky to have the beauty but also sick of the cold and mess!

I made a card in celebration of a friends accomplishment today and my image is Ribbon Dance Tilda by Magnolia.  Never give up!! lol

I listened to a friend and used my beloved Maja design papers!! Oh it was so hard to cut into the beautiful papers but I really think the card was worth it!  lol  I colored Tilda in Copics and added Shabby Pink Frantage all around her.

Magnolia doohickeys Swirly Butterfly and Sprawling Ferns shown with a itsy bitsy button on the butterflies.  I added Maya ribbon roses over some lace I had too.

Here is the Magnolia doohickey So Wrapped Lovely with the Cute Wings on it and another butterfly. At the bottom is a rolled flower and more Sprawling Ferns.

I had fun playing with my Magnolia stash and opening up my coveted Maja papers!  I need to do this more often, but after we paint the inside of the house this week!

I hope you have a lovely day and get to craft also!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Kelly

Maui Princess by Hannah Lynn

Hello and welcome to my blog so glad you are here!
We had 2 days of 35 degree weather and now back to cold and snow.  What a weather year for the record books for all of us!  I am dreaming of the warm tropics and this digital stamp helped me out a bit! lol  Maui Princess from Hannah Lynn is her name and what a beauty from Crafts and Me store.

I took on this image because of Alyce Keegan from Kit and Clowder.  She has a new site she just launched with classes and I am taking the one for skin and hair.  I am learning to fine tune my skills and the more I practice I think I will get it!  Just some really good down time for me to relax with while enjoying Alyce's instruction.  You should go visit and sign up Here at her new site as she has more things going on than this!!

Here is my card Maui Princess

She is colored in Copics and the Frantaged around.

Here is the full card using papers from Anna Dabrowska, Dreamer.   I used a old Spellbinders die for the corners.  This one below reminds me of a fish tail.

Tilda's tag has a seahorse charm and I left it blank as the inside has a sentiment already.  I used a Prima Spray of flowers around the edge.

The side view shows more of the dimension and dies.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, I truly appreciate your visits.
Have a wonderful day,
Kelly

A & A

Hello and Happy Valentines Day!
Are you wondering about my title? The initials are my daughters and boyfriend, Amanda & Andy.  They wanted some wall art and Amanda and I were craft shopping together so we thought about making these cardboard letters for her wall.  She is busy working and has no where to create so I was happy to make them for her!!

The letters are a bit over 2 feet and are cardboard.  I tore strips of paper and Tim Holtz Melange and then mod podged it on.  My fingers were so sticky and I could peel the glue off in the form of my hand I had so much on.

I did the Melange last as the tissue is fun to place and dab with the sponge of mod podge.  Then I used my Gelatos and edged everything to give it a distressed and blended look.

I used some chipboard I received from Southern Ridge, Karen makes the most awesome chipboard.   She is very creative with her designs and they are always changing.  So I painted the swirls and added distressed metallic paint in silver and bronze to them.  This chipboard heart in the frame is Frantaged with Copper and a touch of green.

Here is a nice piece of stiff melange on top of the & and also in the middle.

Here is the other swirl I painted and added distress metallic paint in bronze to it.

I had this metal rusty heart and topped it with a chipboard heart that I painted and inked..then added a bezel I created last fall with Peebeo paints.

Here is another metal heart with the metal key and key hole all distressed with alcohol inks and distressed metallic paint.

It was time consuming but easy to do.  I would like to see the letters fixed onto a black canvas and hung that way that would really set the colors off!
I sure hope you all have a fabulous lovely Valentines day with your sweeties!!
Happy Valentines day to all my blogger friends.

Cowgirl love for 7 Kids College Fund

Welcome my friends and new followers!  Today I would like to share a card I made for our new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog.  The Challenge is ANYTHING GOES!!  I sure hope you enter our challenge to win a gift certificate to 7 Kids College Fund Store.  There are a lot of new products coming in from CHA 2014.

She was colored in Copics and I rubbed some distressed inks around her, stamped in versa mark a few pretty lines and then frantaged in Aged Ivory.  I used the new Prima papers Princess!

Did you notice her frame,, boot,, and a lovely heart?  Those are chipboards from Southern Ridge and I love how nice they are.  I frantaged them too in Aged Aqua and Shabby pink.  The heart natural.

I used WOC roses and some leaf dies to make my corner arrangements.

My sweet friend that gave me this metal post card, I love you is inscribed on it, I love it!

The top edges are Magnolia Doohickey envelope dies and some pleated tulle.  I used the leaf dies but added a Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork die also.

Here she is up close

I hope you have time to peak in at the challenge over at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog and see what my teammates made.  It is so fun when my friends enter the challenge, good luck to you!

Items from the 7 Kids College Fund Store that I used on my card above

Now I want to share something else with you all.

My friend and 7 Kids teammate Karen Gauthier from Thoughts From The Girls blog makes amazing printers trays using Magnolia stamps. After I saw her Christmas one here on her blog last December I just fell in love with it.  Karen said she would make me one and so I sent her the supplies and this is the one she made me in only 1 week!

She is very detail orientated so I want to show you close up photos of the sections.

look at the lovely umbrella, that is 2 dies she combined.  Then a sugar and cream die to go with my spoon I sent her to use, see the background paper, how perfect it all goes!

In 2 corners are 3 separate Magnolia images from different collections.

More Magnolia images combined with other things to create the cutest scenes and so girly.

Look she is so sweet and the layers behind her are beautiful!

So then my naughty but nice friend Karen Gauthier sent me her Christmas Tray without telling me!! I was astonished and it is so beautiful and I will cherish this tray!!  Thank you so much Karen!!

There is a ton of dimension in this tray, the colors are superb.

Here is a closer look at the resin pieces, dies and tiny tulle bows she added with Magnolia images.

Those florals are out like a cone, beautifully done!

So many elegant pieces and colors that are festive for the holiday.

Here are both of the trays on my shelf in my craft room together.  I would love to display them in my living room but I am afraid my kids will pick at them and then they will be ruined.  They are safe and sound on my shelves as are many of your artworks my friends!!

I am very grateful for my friendship with Karen as we work together beautifully.  I also treasure you all and love to share gifts with you, I have everyone's gifts displayed throughout my craft room so I can enjoy them and remember how generous you all are!

Thank you for stopping by today, I sure hope you enjoyed the photos!
Hugs, Kelly
