Glittering Tilda With Tinsel

It is amazing that no matter how sick I am, when I see a challenge that I LOVE,  I have to create a card for it anyway.  Exhausted, better and pleased how this turned out.  The challenge photo is just my colors and style.   I am entering this card in Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Dreaming Of Christmas

Too Much Pink, No I don't think so, I live in a house with 98% boys and their stuff.
I love pink and all the colors in this photo.

My colors are a bit off so I apologize for that.  In the photo I used the black fabric curtains with a hint of yellow for the ends of my card. Using various ribbons of pinks, I edged the main image area and then on the left side I glittered a Cheery Lynn holly die.  On top is a Magnolia doohickey tag die that I glittered, embossed,  added 2 crystal hearts and tied it with a pink bow.

The tree is Tim Holtz's pine tree die cut and I used Stampendous shaved ice on it. It is decorated it with gems and pearls.  I made my own presents for under the tree.
Tilda is colored in Distressed Inks.  Liquid pearls are scattered around the background.  Tilda's lace and tinsel have stickles on them.

A side view of the card style from Norma, she has so many awesome style cards and great tutorials for them.  A little closer look at Tilda.

Thank you for stopping in today, have a crafty one!

Yes Virginia

I love this time of the year when the holiday TV shows are on. I think the older holiday shows are more fun to watch but my kids are in disbelief that black and white TV shows existed. LOL
I made a card with the curious Pixies from the Christmas Story collection on top of the snowy roof looking at a red hat in the chimney.  Hmmm, is there a Santa Claus???

My card stock is Winterland from Fancy Pants Designs.  I tried to show off the papers as they are so pretty.   I colored my images in Copics and added some snow.

The trees are Tim Holtz pine tree from Sizzix and I edged them with Stampin Up's pool party and tea dye distressed ink.  Then I layered 3 of them.

The middle section is a Spellbinders die that I popped up a bit from the DP.   They are determined to see if there is a Santa Claus.

I hope you liked my 1 page Christmas Story (lol) and now off to see if I can make some ornaments for a small tree I have.  Thank you for stopping by.

Janet's Birthday Gift

I was urged by my friend Sandy to do a canvas and she gave me links to blogs that have posted them.  I was very excited to give it a try so I practiced on a 12x12 Designer paper mounted on thin cardboard.
I loved how the background looked on the paper and so I left it alone and proceeded with my gift idea for my sister-in-law.  You know if you start over on real canvas I would have screwed it up so why take the chance!  I put my 12x12 card in a shadow box and gave it to her yesterday at Thanksgiving.

Below is the whole Faux canvas I made.

I added her grandmothers crocheted lace (100 years old) to the heart with a piece of fabric from her childhood and pinned it.  In the next photo is a close up of the rolled paper with 2 butterflies on it. I doodled around the papers and put liquid pearl on the butterfly.

The heart I hand cut and surrounded by Cheery Lynn Nautical Wheeler Doily die.  I wrote the scripture Proverbs 31 all around the heart, and did some distressing.  The letters and numbers are stamped and then cut individually, distressed and glued on to the faux canvas.  After I was done, I modge podged it all over to seal it and it added shine and texture too.

A little close up of the butterflies and my paint and edging.  The butterflies are punched with SU punch and then stickled in the center.  My paint is cheap acrylic that I brushed out with a wide brush and sprayed tattered angels blue chalkboard mist on here and there.
The edges are doodled with a black pen and then some white dots to bring it out more.

Here is the top left of the faux canvas.

Janet appreciated her canvas and celebrated her birthday with my son Noah.  Funny they have the same birth dates and on Thanksgiving.
Below is my youngest grandchild, only girl, Lyla.  She is very shy and doesn't know I am holding her. After she warms up she can be played with.  She makes the funniest faces.

I gave her my phone and told her to call Sandy and look at that face, like right!

I hope you enjoyed your family holiday yesterday, I had 1 of my kids go out afterward to witness all the black friday events, we had a freak snow storm too so he stayed in town or maybe never slept. LOL
Have a great weekend my creative friends!

Auction Basket

Hi everyone, hope your day is going well.  Our church is doing a small fundraiser this weekend so I volunteered my cards to create a Auction Basket.  I am happy they are put to good use.

I made a Christmas card in between everything going on here, nothing special but still 1 card closer to Christmas.

My basket is ready to be delivered today at church.  I put 12 cards in it and now all I have left are the Christmas ones, just need to make more! LOL

The scene and Tilda are colored in Copics.  I sprayed goosebumps on the scene to give it texture and shine.  The chipboard frame was covered in silver distressed stain and then embossed with fragments.

My paper and embellies are from BO Bunny.  I made a pocket inside the card for a little Christmas wish.

Sorry this is quite short, my kids leave me tomorrow and we need to spend more time together.
left to right
Kaitlyn and my son Ben (17) my son Ryan and wife Laura (26) Their 2 kids, Lyla (1) Brody (3) My son Isaac (15) with our Pug. My son Scott (24)Marine Corp. his wife Amber (21) then my daughter Amanda (19) on the bottom center is my missing son Noah (12) hiding behind my grandson Dominic (5) and then my youngest son Elijah (4).
Notice everyone has a dog, all in my house. Yuk, I need to do a thorough cleaning when they all leave.
I love my family. Next year my son Scott and his wife will be done with the Marine Corp and come home to make their own family. They are leaving for NC and I will miss them!!

Ski Edwin With Snowflakes

I was able to sneak in some craft time while my kids were gone visiting other friends and family.
I have something hidden

I colored Edwin in distressed Inks and used liquid glass on the snowflakes.  I put puffy snow round him and then doodled here and there for more definition of Edwin crashing into the snow.

WOC flowers and wooden snowflakes are on paper snowflakes to embellish the edge.

The Magnolia doo-hickey tag is made from The Scrap Cake DP, I used it for the card too.  I used tiny text for the sentiment.

The embellishment is a prima flower, wooden snowflakes and mitten die cuts with twine.  Then I put puffy snow on the mittens and tiny pearls on the wooden snowflakes.

Now for the Hidden Surprise

Here is Tilda with Lovikkkamittens behind Ski Edwin with Snowflakes, both are from the Christmas Story Collection.

Here is Tilda completely revealed as a book mark.

The entire front of the card.

The inside of the card.

I would like to enter the following challenges

Thank you for stopping by and the very sweet comments,
I am off to the Mall of America with my kids and grandkid today, I will have fun at the craft store there while the others go on rides. Then we always eat great food at the Mall, mmmm
