Tea Cup

I cased this card fromwww.kylieskraftroom.blogspot.com and loved her Tea Cup card, hers is so nice. I tried to use my own creativity and changed it up as I know my limits.  I made a easel card and put Tilda on a tag with the hearts so she can be pulled out of the cup.

I stamped Tilda with Momento black Ink pad onto Beinfang watercolor paper (140LB)
I used Distress Inks for the dress: Stormy Sky and Vintage Photo. I used Vintage Photo for her hair and for the skin and cheeks: Tea Dye and Worn Lipstick.

Tilda is Tagged

This card I made for my sister-in-law Janet, its her fault I am addicted to making cards. She has brought me a peaceful outlet to release my inner creativity that can be squashed with all the people in my home.  This Christmas she blessed me with 20 + bottles of "stickles" so now my cards will be more sparkly!

Janet also sells my cards to her co-workers and aids my addiction.  I am very appreciative of my sister-in-law and I just want her to know that. Janet will receive her card tomarrow but I will show your ladies first.

Tilda is on a tag that I made a pocket for on the front of the card. I just slide her in the pocket and she is peeking out waiting to be used for a bookmark or whatever you want. I put a thank you message on the back of the tag so Janet can read it as a reminder of  her generosity. Thank you for looking at my card.   Kelly

For a Gracious Hostess Card with Christmas Tilda

 I colored Christmas Tilda with Distress Inks and loved the paper "Christmas Magic" by Fancy Pants with her. I used stampin up cranberry crisp ink on the sentiments as it matched perfectly. The easel card is a favorite style that I enjoy making, you can add character in different ways to them.

 The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink. I may need several of these cards during the holiday season for all places we will be going to.  It seems 'Thank you's' are not important to people anymore, but I like it.

Eggnog Receipe

This recipe I took out of the 1985 Southern Living Annual Recipes book and then tweaked it a bit to our liking. I will show you the tweaks in (parenthesis).

Creamy Eggnog

2 Cups Sugar
1 Quart half and half
8 eggs, separated ( we have fresh farm eggs so I added 4 more)
1 Cup Bourbon ( use half of this)
1 Cup Rum       ( use half of this)
1/2 Cup Brandy (use half of this)
1 Quart whipping cream, whipped ( Do not over whip and use the kind in the carton that you whip yourself)
Dash of Salt
Freshly grated nutmeg ( I added 4 T of already grated nutmeg and mixed it in with the other ingredients)

Combing sugar and half and half, stiring until sugar dissolves; set aside (I used a hand mixer on low speed)
(you are going to need a very big bowl)
Beat egg yolks at medium speed until thick and lemon colored.  Gradually add bourbon, rum, brandy, beating constantly at low speed.  Add half and half mixture gradually to yolk mixture, stirring well.

Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form.  Gently fold into yolk mixture. Fold in whipped cream and salt (nutmeg too). Chill thouroughly, Best if made 1 day before.
(the cream will separate and sit at the top after it has sat awhile so you need to stir it before serving)

Makes 1 1/2 gallons.

Eggnog Gift with Christmas Party Tilda

 I made homemade Eggnog for Gifts. It has brandy, bourbon and golden rum in it. (not for kids)  Tilda is colored in Distress Inks, a variety of them so I could get her blended properly.  The snowman paper is from Jillibean "Christmas Chestnut Soup" and snowflake paper is from Echo Park Paper Co "Merry Christmas".  The second photo is the inside and all the dies are from Papertrey Ink.  It a little dark here, sorry but the paper is a rich brown color and it looks better in person than on my blog. Sorry about that.

            The inside of her card has a tag I made from Mish Mash's etsy shop. The tag sits behind Tilda in the front of the card.  I used the die cut fence from Magnolia and I do not have any other information as the card was made a while ago.  I will continue to post more older Magnolia cards as I get them uploaded. Thanks.
