Julie Nutting Girl Canvas

Today I made a canvas featuring a Julie Nutting inspiration.  This is my 3rd canvas with this tight kneed dress lady on it.  I love her, If only I looked like this!

The other day I was making the wedding card to go with the canvas gift and I laid this 6x12 piece of paper from Prima Lyric down,  immediately I saw this canvas in my head.
She was so simple as the paper did all the work.  I used my template that I had saved for the girl to outline her and her dress from the same Prima paper pad.  She was easy to position so that her feet would be on the line below and her head matched up with the halo of leaves.

My bird cage is a memory box die and the corner metal is from my local craft store.  At the knee of the dress I used a crystal button and Prima crystal pearls that have a unique coating on them.  The black beading is from recollections.  2 Flowers from WOC and just mod podge and glossy accents to fasten everything on.

Here is a closer look at her hair, I used Golden acrylic black paint with a sculpting medium and dabbed around her head, only once, I know a shocker, and fastened some of those Prima pearls on, then done.

Here is a close up of the skirt and my doodles that go around the girl.  The glitter is Sparkle from Mod Podge and I lightly swipped it around the canvas for some shimmer.

This photo had a different light on it

A few weeks ago Lisa Minckler made a gorgeous canvas using the crackle method which you can see  Here on her blog and inspired me to do it on the sides of my canvas.  So easy as Lisa explained her method.  Then I inked the edges to smudge in some contrast.

I just had to show you this canvas.  It was simple to do and turned out beautifully in my opinion.  Alot of times we do not like our work when we are done, well this one I love so I will keep it.  I can always do another one for a gift as I have more paper from Prima Lyric.

Thank you for visiting me today and Have a great weekend.
Kelly
