Gears Canvas Girl

Another Canvas! They are in my head and I have to paint them out.  Prima papers and embellishments are incredible too, I just had to get it all out and here is what happened.

First I tore strips of paper from Prima's Engraver 12x12 pad and mod podge them onto a canvas.  After they dried I started mixing my acrylic paints and made the face and then the neck, added white to the eye and nose area.  After it dried I made the eyes, my worst talent, eyes.  I used Faber Castell Pitt pens in browns and then Faber Castell gelatos for her shadows. Her nose was shadowed with FC Pitt pens and her cheeks are FC Pitt pens and gelatos.  Her lips were the hardest, usually not a problem but I think it was because of her head being turned and I need the symmetry. Her lips were made with FC Pitt Pens, Pentax oil crayons.

The sentiment was stamped with Archival ink onto a Claudia Hellmuth Canvas sheet.  I distressed the edges and rubbed Distressed inks onto it.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps by Donna Downey.
All the gears are from Tim Holtz, the keys from my local craft store, the locks are from Graphic 45, the clock and flowers, and bottle caps ect... are all from Prima Vintage Trinkets.  I used Glossy Accents to glue them all on.

The heart I drew with glue and then sprinkled Frantage onto the glue, letting it set up I poured off the Frantage and then heated it up from the underside of the canvas.  I rubbed Distressed silver metalic paint onto it a bit and highlighted it with FC Pitt pen in brown.

For her clothing I used copper and a Tim Holtz embossing folder and aged it with pantina alcohol ink. Then I used Glossy Accents to glue it on.  You can see the trinkets and how they add texture to the canvas.  You can also see the texture in her hair, I used sculpting medium with my acrylic paints.

After I used my gelatos and oil pastels to blend the papers, I used bronze distressed ink on a gears mask and it turned a bit pink.  Then I stamped the sentiment all over the canvas with white paint including her hair. Then I took a Papertrey Ink writing stamp and stamped that all over in black including her neck and forehead.

Different lighting helps find the true colors of the canvas.  I purchased most of the materials from Blue Moon Scrapbooking, they are family run and actually call you before your package goes out, then you can add to your order, Yeah!

Well I hope some of my tutorial will inspire you to paint something fun that you like,
I appreciate your comments and visits to my blog
Thank You!
Kelly
