Vintage Bezel Canvas

Good Morning, I am so happy you stopped by today!
Why is it when you are older the days go faster and the list gets longer?  I am trying to keep up with everyones blogs but then the day is gone and another one goes by.....so I apologize to you for my slow visitation on your blog.  I love to visit you but it is taking me longer with my older son and his wife living here.  Busy all the time, even the sweet dogs are demanding, hehe.  I love it, we are having fun!

We have a new challenge today at 7 Kids College Fund

The challenge is anything goes with a twist of Vintage.  Your main items should be something that is being sold in the 7 kids College Fund Store. Simple!

Here is my canvas

Here are the two bezels I made hooked together

Up close and personal looks of each bezel

The sentiment and bottom of the canvas

Here is my husbands grandmother's lace, I have a little bit of it and it is over 100 years old so this was the perfect canvas for it.  I love the scallops in it.

This is a Webster's Pages Key

Side view of all the textures of the Prima flowers. Some of the embellishments are metal and some are fabric or paper.  Most of them are Prima.

You can see a hint of the stagecoach and horses from the paper under the embellishing.

I tried to embellish without covering all the lace, the lace did well with mod podge on it and I think it will help preserve it more.

I have been photographing outside on my front porch. It sits on a wooden rocking chair. I like it.
In this photo you can see the glitter around the edges of the canvas.

Thank you for visiting with me today. If you have any questions about how to make the canvas just email me and I can help you out.

Have a great day,
Kelly

  1. What an absolutely glorious creation, Kelly... as the proud owner of some of your beautiful bezels, I know that this must look even lovelier in real life! Beautiful close-ups of the detailed work in your bezels, and the composition on the canvas is so great too.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments today. With the house-move, I seem to be on permanent catch-up at the moment, but with projects as wonderful as this, catching up is pure pleasure!

  7. Well Kelly you create beautifully among all the extra heads in the house. I'm a big fan of vintage and Victorian and this canvas is gorgeous. The bezels are fabulous as I too am an owner of one of your gems. I even made a couple of them yesterday. Exciting. Oh and grandma's lace is a real treasure. All beautiful!

  8. Gorgeous embellishments on a very pretty vintage canvas. You are known as the bezel queen. I still have the antique lace you sent me so now I might have to rethink what I want to do with it. You told me that you were working on a special canvas and now we all can enjoy it!
