Country Style

I have colored images already done in a box so I figured they should be made into cards. Looking around this morning I found  a new challenge that I could not resist Just Magnolia Challenge Blog (In The Country)  Here is my Criss Cross Country Card.

I colored Miss Muu Muu and the Sign with Copic markers a while ago and then had to tweak the color brown to match better with the paper.  My DP is MME Miss Caroline.
Here is the Criss Cross holder and the inside tag pulled out.

The embossed die is a Spellbinder cut in half.  I do not know the name of this one, sorry.  I put 1 Prima flower on it and stamped the tiny Thank You with a Papertrey Ink stamp.  The gold trim is from Webster's Pages.

It is hard to tell that I made clouds in the background because I ended up trimming more than I thought.

Here I am City girl in the Country, who would have thought I loved it out here in the garden.  Actually I cannot grow a thing.  My husband grows and tends it, then I come in and pick the vegi's fresh for his dinner. Yes he loves me and the food!

My First Blog Candy: Come And Get It!!

I want to thank you girls who post comments on my blog and to those who have helped me along the way!  I have been blessed by all of you and I really enjoy everything that is written on my blog.
We all have talents in one way or another.  I enjoy seeing your creations and all the love you put into them.  Your creations make my addiction so much more fun, buying and buying and buying.
My gift to you is the picture below

So how can you receive this package, hmmmmmm

1. Become a follower of my blog if you are not already.

2. Guess my age for my upcoming milestone birthday in August.

3. Guess which Tilda is my favorite, hint: she is from the Princes and Princesses Collection 2012.

4. Guess what is coming up in August that I have been creating 100 cards for.

Now I know that you may not get all of them correct so who ever is close to getting them all correct will be entered into a drawing that my little helper will pull from a container.  I got that one from Rosie.

I just wanted to have a little fun with you so please do not stress over it,  just guess and LEAVE ME A COMMENT WITH YOU GUESSES so we can all have fun reading what everyone is saying.

Thanks for playing along and Good Luck To Each and Every One of You!!!

THIS CANDY WILL END ON AUGUST 13TH AT MIDNIGHT!

Christmas Cheer

I wanted to see Tilda Learning to Dance in red so I saw the TOMIC CHALLENGE blog had Christmas in July and how perfect would she be on a Christmas Tag!

I used Magnolia Christmas DP from 2011 and glitter paper from SU to create the background for the tag.  My trees are die cuts from Tim Holtz but I used a white one behind the Magnolia paper one.  My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  The Magnolia doohickey fence is on each side so that it looks like she is dancing in front of a window.

Above she is glittered with stickles.
On one side are jingle bells and a snow flake

The other side is a candy cane, star and snowflake

Learning To Dance Tilda

I finally inked up my 3 new Tilda images from the new Fall collection and I just love this one so much. After I got the hang of how she is posed, coloring her was not so bad.  She is very versatile and can fall into many themes for cards.

She is colored with Copics BG0000, 11, 23 and 32 for her dress.  E00, 11and R20 for her skin. Her hair is colored with C7, 9 and 100.
You also get a up close view of the Memory Box die

You can see the embossed white paper using a Tim Holtz folder for my Vegabond. It is musical notes like the die.  Tucked behind is more green lace ribbon from Webster's Pages.  The Feather flower and pin is also from Webster's.  The cute little flower resin embellishments are from Prima.

Here is a look of the bottom of the card with a fluffy fabric ribbon from Joannes and the Webster's flower and ribbon.

I used a Spellbinders lacey oval for her background.  The DP is from Authentique.

For the inside I used Magnolia Doohickey heart die and put a sentiment on it.  Two more Memory Box dies and a space for writing.

Edwin in Miami

My last card for today. The more boys I make the better they are looking.  I feel they are more plain of a card because you cannot put all the girly embellishments on it.  Sometimes we just need to be plain and it works out better.

I love this DP 6x6 pad from American Crafts 'Shoreline'.  This pad goes so well with this collection of maggies.  I used Distressed Inks and markers on Edwin.  My palm trees are a die from Memory Box and the sun is a Spellbinders die.  The cool wave is Scrollworks from Tim Hotz.

The inside of the card is from the paper pad and I added the palm tree dies.

Hope you have a great week  ahead!

Planes and Trains

Another Boy's birthday card, I actually like this one.  I just love the Magnolia dies, they are cute and give your project a little shabby feel if you want them too.  My next favorite are the Memory Box dies as they cut thin and whimsy pieces for my card accents.  Some of you have Cheery Lynn that I love but I haven't shopped that brand yet.  Maybe I shouldn't even look.  I may never profit off my card making but I saved money by not having to use a Psychiatrist! LOL

Edwin is colored in Distressed Inks Black Soot and Pumice Stone.

The inside Birthday Sentiment is from LOTV.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Today are my in-laws 60th Wedding Anniversary and we had a Catholic Mass with catered dinner.  Everything was so much fun,  and they appreciated the card I made them.

The easel card is closed below.  I used 1 piece of DP from Mme and embellished with Magnolia Doohickeys, WOC roses, pearls and ribbons from my stash.

The tulle is vintage from a garage sale, I love it and I am getting low on it.

The Magnolia Doohickey heart is so cute, I put some crocheted ribbon, charms, pearls, pin and ribbon on and then the # '60' for their anniversary.

The top and then the bottom of the left side of the card.

The top under their wedding photo I made a tag with MF tag and Magnolia Doohickey on top.  I put their party and original wedding information on it as a keepsake.

Here is the card in a box I made.  My good friend Sandy D told me about Uline boxes so I ordered a bunch and decorate them to match the cards.

Here is the top of the box

Here is the box from the side.  This is so much easier than making my own box.

Edwin With Airplane

So funny, I have 6 boys and I struggle making boy cards, they just do not come natural to me.  I redid one card and this is the only one worth showing you.  I love to see everyone's boy cards and I love some of them,  I really need to study the boy thing?  So here is my try.

The paper was easy as this is from one piece and Edwin sits perfectly on it.  All I added to the DP is Edwin, the banner and clear MVP button.

Edwin is colored in Distressed Inks.
The inside of the card.

I made a Birthday Wishes pocket so you can write memories or wishes on the clouds.

Here it is opened showing the Magnolia die Clouds and a star punch for the wishes pocket

Three Baby Cards

I feel like I haven't been here for a while as my life is on super drive.  I colored the baby images 3 weeks ago and just now finished cards with them.  I am glad to be done with them and on to something different.  I am thinking boy cards?

Remember the little ducklings a few posts ago, my hubby thought it would be sweet to bring this one into the house and show my 4year old. This duck must be part Mallard as it hopped into the tub and swam around my son and did the dive, swim and pop up thing they do.  He was so fun to watch, cute little guy.

Here is a card that I am not crazy about, no matter what I did, I just felt it didn't flow. I gave up and I think I will use this one for display so they can see the texture and embellishments.

I thought this one is more 'Urban' and modern than my usual.

Here is one all dolled up and sparkly.  I really love the moon and how it hugs the baby.  The laces are from Magnolia and I found the stamp at Sir Stampalot and just now used it.  I ran the laces through my sticker maker as glueing them was not a option this time.

Thank you for peaking at my latest Baby Cards,
I hope you have a very nice day!

Creative Space Hopping with My Desert Cottage

If you are coming from My Desert Cottage you are in the right place for the blog hop!
Welcome to my blog
This is where I create greeting cards using primarily Magnolia Stamps.  I love to color them in Distressed Inks and Copics and then dress them up so that they are more like a "gift" card for special people in our lives. Before I show you my craft room here is a sample of what I make:

I love to adorn everything flowers and pearls if possible.

My Cows are a big hit recently with my blogger friends

Here are my favorite Ballerina cards I made

This little sweetheart is a tag

My most recent card is this baby in a basket.

My Creative Place was our baby nursery and now my crafting space.  I like the main floor so that I can create and then stir supper or fix a boo boo.  Very efficient for a homeschooling mom.  I prefer things organized, clean and simple.

We live in the country and have cows, chickens, pigs, goats, horses, cats, dogs and ducks. Because I am originally a 'city' girl I prefer to have this for my view from my craft room. When I need inspiration I look at the woods and all of God's beauty is right  there.
In the afternoons and on the weekend, my husband and I sit on our porch rocking and talking.  We get plenty of visitors like our kids and then the dogs show up for  and once and a while a goat.  Our porch can get quite crowded but I love to look out onto it from my craft room.

I have numerous Crystal pieces from family that I decided to use for my crafting supplies.  They used to be stored away in a cabinet and then I thought 'Why Not' use them and then I can see their beauty and remember those who passed them along to me.

I have built in shelves above my son's old dresser to store more of my things like ribbons and tools for the Vagabond and Cricut machines.  I also keep my cards on the middle shelf  while they dry or until I am ready to send them off.

Below is neat card holder that I found at our local craft store.  It is made from wooden spindles and chicken wire so I can pin my cards onto it.   My shelf has decorative  boxes to store my finished cards in.  I love using lace, crocheted doilies and cross stitched table clothes in my room as they add to the shabby chic feel that I love.

You can see my Wedding/Anniversary cards need to be replenished as this box is quite empty.

Just some added storage on my high book shelves for the little things like pearls and gems.  I use mason jars for my favorite ribbons.

Here is a closeup of a basket where I keep clear stamps that I use often.

My basic everyday water color paper and stamped images are in these files along with basic white and cream card stock.  I use them all the time.  My Papertrey Ink stamps stack perfectly next to the paper so I can just grab and go create.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog and touring my crafting space!

I hope you have a blessed day and enjoy visiting everyone else's spaces!
